Active Listener Meeting in Périgueux
All the Active Listeners were invited to a 'Getting to know you' session on 12th January at the Ibis Centre Hotel in Périgueux.
This was an initial team meeting of the new CSF Dordogne Active Listeners. There were 8 of us present (out of a total of 14) and the session allowed each AL to introduce herself to the team.
We learnt about each other's reasons for wanting to become an AL and our pathways to arriving as a team member with CSF Dordogne.
During the session we explored the benefits and difficulties of being an AL, which led us onto some interesting discussion about our interactions with clients (keeping absolute confidentiality of course) and acted as a source of information , shared learning and support for this complex and often challenging role.
Welcome to our new-look website
Since November last year, we have been developing a new website, with the valuable aid of a small web design company, Pixel Point Design. We hope that the appearance and layout improves your experience of visiting us online. Our primary aims were to:
- Update the site to reflect the latest website design practices
- Attract more visitors who in turn, gain more from their visit
- Continue to fulfil our fundamental purpose and ethos, catering to our key audiences

CSF Dordogne-Sud Curry Night and Stall at the Christmas Fair
Shades of Marigold Hotel! A colourful curry night took place at the lovely home of Charlotte and Nigel Halsby on Tuesday the 26th of November in aid of Cancer Support France Dordogne Sud. An amazing variety of curries were made from mild to Madras. Samosas, curry puffs and lots of other goodies made over 60 guests come back for more. A table quiz, Indian music and lovely costumes set the scene for an informal and entertaining evening, and new clients came forward who needed our support and that is what it’s all about. CSF were also present at two recent Fairs with the opportunity to meet and talk to clients. In Bergerac, we were invited to join the Dordogne International Ladies at their autumn Fair. A week later we were in Castillonés for a Christmas Fair where we had lots of Christmas presents on sale and raised over €300 for the charity.
